Using the Live Transcript

Follow the classroom conversation in real time as you observe.

As you record, Elevate transcribes the classroom in real time. The transcript is there whenever you want it — and tucked away when you don't.

Following along

The transcript updates live as the lesson unfolds. You can open it to read what's being said, or keep it hidden and focus on the room and your notes. It's your choice, moment to moment.

What gets transcribed

Elevate transcribes the spoken lesson in the language you selected when you started — English or Spanish.

Privacy comes built in

When you generate a report, Elevate automatically uses AI to detect and replace student names in the transcript and notes. Review the final report text for any remaining names before finalizing it, and avoid typing student names into Report Builder edits because those edits are not scrubbed again. See Student name scrubbing explained.

If transcription drops

If the live transcript stops updating, your notes and the observation timer keep working. Transcription resumes automatically when the connection returns, but speech during the outage is not captured and will be missing from the transcript. Check the connection indicator and read If your audio or transcription fails for what to do.

Tip: Many evaluators keep the transcript hidden during the lesson and rely on it afterward, when building the report. Find the rhythm that works for you.
