For Evaluators: Start Here
Everything you need to run your first observation and build your first report.
You're here to observe classrooms and build reports — Elevate handles the transcript and a first draft so you can focus on what you saw. Here's the short path from your first login to a finished report.
1. Get the lay of the land
Take a minute to learn where things are in Navigating Elevate.
2. Run an observation
When you're ready to observe a lesson:
- Set up the session and check your audio — Before you start an observation.
- Transcribe, watching the timer and connection indicator — Transcribing an observation.
- Capture what you see with notes and quick tags — Taking notes and quick tags.
- Follow along with the live transcript whenever you want.
- Finish up — Ending an observation.
Note: If your audio or transcription has trouble mid-lesson, you can keep going in notes-only mode. See If your audio or transcription fails.
3. Build your report
After the observation, generate a draft and shape it into a finished report:
A quick reassurance on privacy
Elevate automatically uses AI to detect and replace student names when your report is generated. Review the final report text for any remaining names before finalizing it, and avoid typing student names into Report Builder edits because those edits are not scrubbed again. Read How Elevate protects student privacy for details.
