Managing Pending Invites
Track invitations and manage pending invites before they expire.
After you send an invite, you can keep track of it until the person joins.
Invite status
An invite is active and pending until it's accepted or its 7-day window ends. Once the person sets their password, it becomes accepted and they appear as an active user.
If an invite expires
Invites are valid for 7 days. If that window passes before the person accepts:
- The expired invite can no longer be resent or revoked.
- Create a new invite for the person. The new invite supersedes the expired one.
Revoking an invite
Revoking cancels a pending invite so its link can no longer be used. Do this if you invited the wrong person or chose the wrong role — then send a new invite with the correct details.
Note: Revoking only affects active pending invites. To change someone who has already joined, see Managing user accounts.
Who can manage invites
Managing pending invites — resending and revoking — is handled by tech admins and district leaders. Principals can create invites for their own school (see Inviting users), while resending and revoking pending invites stays with tech admins and district leaders.
