Ending an Observation
Wrap up a recording, add post-observation notes, and move on to your report.
When the lesson is over, ending the observation takes just a moment.
End the observation
Select End Observation to stop. Elevate saves your transcript and all of your timestamped notes and quick tags.
Add post-observation notes
Before you finish, you can add post-observation notes — a chance to capture overall impressions while they're fresh, things that didn't fit into a single moment during the lesson.
What happens to your data
Elevate saves your transcript and your notes, and doesn't store the classroom audio. When you generate a report, Elevate uses AI to detect and replace student names in the transcript and notes. Review the final report text for any remaining names before finalizing it, and avoid typing student names into Report Builder edits because those edits are not scrubbed again. See How Elevate protects student privacy.
Next: your report
With the observation complete, you're ready to create your report. Head to Generating a report.
Tip: Post-observation notes are a great place to jot the one or two themes you'd most like the report to reflect. Elevate will take them into account.
